It’s September and that means back to school! We are seeing the number of orders ramp up for the fall term and are busy creating accounts for new teachers signing up.

Say Hello to Peachy Spikes
Fuzzles and Garth are excited to welcome an addition to their family. Peachy Spikes joins Blazing Topaz, Cosmic Cobalt, Royal Urchin, Spiked Mahogany, Teal Tides and White Glimmer. That’s 7 beautiful faux fur fabrics to choose from!
We add and retire colour choices for our kits based on popularity as well as availability of fabric. Fuzzles and Garth take on a unique look with each option and until we make a sample we’re never quite sure how they’ll look in their new fur!
We think Peachy Spikes is pretty adorable and we hope you and your students will love this new colour!
Paper Pattern or Silk Screened?
Did you know our Hand Sewing kits come in two different styles?
We’ve tried to make it easier for teachers to choose what they want to teach their students so we offer the following types of kits:
Paper Patterns: These kits (including Garth, Octavius and Narwhal in the top row above) come with paper patterns that are pinned to the fabric and then the pieces are cut out just like a traditional sewing pattern. If you want your students to learn how to layout a pattern as beginners then you would choose this type of kit.
Silk Screened Fabric: Our second type of kit (such as our Turtles, Frogs and Little Squeak in the lower row) have their patterns silk screened on the back of the fabric so they can be cut out without any extra steps. If you want to skip having to work with a pattern in your students’ early learning stages then you would choose this type of kit.
If you check out our Hand Sewing Look Book you’ll see that silk screened kits are marked with a red star.
Student Direct Ordering
Tired of collecting money from your students for their kits?
Student Direct Ordering is a service we offer that allows your students to order and pay online themselves rather than you having to gather payment and place an order.
After students have ordered, the full classroom order is sent as one shipment to your classroom.
We set it up as follows:
- You need a minimum number of students to qualify for this service (contact us for more information about this).
- We assign your school a Coupon Code that students use when they order.
- The Code will remove the shipping cost for the student and let us know which school their order is associated with.
- We work with you to determine an Expiry Date for the code. Students must order prior to this date.
- Each student orders and pays online using their Coupon Code.
- Once the Expiry Date is reached, we package the student orders together to ship to your school.
- On the rare occasion a separate invoice will be sent to cover the shipping cost which the school is responsible for paying (note: we offer free shipping for orders over $200, so only for combined orders below $200 will there be an invoice for shipping).
